Yesterday, the volunteers in Uganda visited the sick and elderly in the villages. Aside from the food given, the conversations, stories, and laughter was met with great gratitude from the village people. What a great experience! ❤️

Igår besökte volontärerna i Uganda sjuka och äldre i byarna. Förutom maten som gavs möttes samtalen, berättelserna och skratten med stor tacksamhet från byborna. Vilken fantastisk upplevelse! ❤️

På rasterna vill byns barn alltid leka med volontärerna. Igår besökte några av volontärerna ett provisoriskt klassrum, där barnen var väldigt glada över att ge volontärerna en rundtur! ❤️

During the breaks, the village children always want to play with the volunteers. Yesterday, some of the volunteers visited a makeshift classroom, where the children were very excited to give the volunteers a tour! ❤️

Volontärerna var upptagna på jobbet i skolbyggnaden. Gårdagens uppgifter var bland annat blandning av murbruk och putsning av väggar. 💪🏼

Två vattenbrunnar byggdes i går för att försö

Två vattenbrunnar byggdes i går för att försörja skolan som ligger på kullen och byarna i dalarna med vatten. De nya källorna till rent vatten innebär bättre tillgång till hygien och sanitet. 💯💯

Den sista bilden visar deras tidigare enda vattenkälla, som folk fick gå flera kilometer för att komma till.

Two water wells were built yesterday to serve the school located uphill and the villages located in the valleys. The new sources of clean water means better access to hygiene and sanitation. 💯💯💯

The last picture shows their previous only source of water, which people had to walk several kilometers to get to.

Volontärerna träffade skolbarnen och deras familjer i St. Lawrence Primary School. Barnen välkomnade dem med en innerlig sång. Det var underbart! 😍

Den sista bilden är för närvarande deras enda skolbyggnad för 150 barn.

Volontärerna har landat i Uganda! De träffade några lokala studenter från Makerere University som kommer att gå med dem i volontärarbete i Gomba-distriktet. 💯💯💯

De närmaste dagarna kommer det att jobbas på skolans byggarbetsplats och att träffa familjer på skolan.

En fantastisk IYC helg är passerad.
I lördags hämtade vi upp mat från Costco, vars försäljningsvärde skulle uppgått till drygt
40 000 kr🤯🤯🤯
I stället för att slänga allt delade vi ut det till 8 familjer som i sin tur skulle dela med sig med vänner 🙂
Sen i söndags var det Cooking for Others på schemat. Vi slog på stora trumman och lagade 50 portioner och delade ut allt plus en massa muffins från Costco 😋

Thanks to your generous contributions in kind and donations in cash, groundwork for the new school building in St. Lawrence Nursery and Primary School has commenced!

Of course, there is no better way to plan than to consult and collaborate with the beneficiaries themselves — the school children and their families! 👍

Idag samlades tre volontärer för att hjälpa till att dela ut mat till 8 behövande familjer.
Matutdelningen började hos Costco där vi tog emot mat för ca 40 000kr som var på väg att passera bäst-före-datumet🍓🍊🥮🥬

Maten sorterades i plastbackar och packades in i bilen för att sedan delas ut till familjerna.
